Definition of Blended Learning

Blended Learning Model is basically a combination of excellence of learning are carried out face-to-face and virtually. According to Semler (2005): "Blended learning combines the best aspects of online learning, structured face-to-face activities, and real world practice. Online learning systems, classroom training and on-the-job experience have major drawbacks are by themselves. The blended learning approach uses the strengths of each to counter the others' Weaknesses."

Blended learning, is an ease of learning that combines various means of delivery, models of teaching and learning styles, introducing a range of media options dialogue between the facilitator and those who got teaching. Blended learning as well as a combination of direct instruction (face-to-face) and online teaching, but more than that as an element of social interaction. Blended learning is learning supported by an effective combination of means of delivery, ways of teaching and different learning styles and are found on open communication among all parts involved with the training."

As for the advantages of using blended learning as a combination of direct instruction (face-to-face) and online teaching, but more than that as an element of social interaction, namely:
1. The existence of interactions between teachers and students
2. Teaching can be on line or in person
3. Blended Learning = combining instructional modalities (or delivery media)
4. Blended Learning = combining instructional methods

What is blended learning? blended learning is a learning model which tried to combine several kinds of learning models that already exist. Along with developments in technology, information, and communication, especially in the form of Internet networking technology, general models of learning are combined in the form of a model of learning (face to face) face to face, off-line learning, and on-line learning. Models on-line learning can be learning by using the web, blogs, e-learning, and so on. While off-line learning can be learning by using CDs, DVDs, and so on. The general objective of this blended learning model is to find a combination of models for effective learning.

In the end, this learning model aims to achieve effective learning, online learning and face to face against the ESP (Home for Specific Purposes), provides some conclusions as follows: (1) blended learning model with video-based blog is an effective approach for students in learning English, (2) blogging help 82% of students in public speakingnya improve skills, such as speech, articulation, facial expression, stance and gesture, (3) students are also taught how to use computers and multimedia software applications through cooperative learning blogs: ( 4) students can see and fix bugs and learn from other people the ability to view video on the blog quickly, and (5) by implementing a blended learning model of public speaking lessons, students get the advantage of self-autonomy and collaborative learning, peer feedback from video , instructor feedback and self-reflection.

Implementation of blended learning model more broadly should be supported by various studies, so the percentage of each model of learning can be known. Blended learning provides the best opportunity to learn from the class of the transition to Elearning. Blended learning involves a class (or face to face) and online learning. This method is very effective to increase the efficiency of classroom instruction and allows an increase in discussion or review the information outside the classroom.
